UPDATE: AMENDMENT TO THE WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATION PUBLISHED (23.12.2025)

As of December 23, 2025, a number of amendments have been made to the "Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment" and published in the Official Gazette.

Main Amendments

In the updated regulation, the most striking point upon initial review is the replacement of the term "Accredited" with the term "Equipment".

Our organization has been revised from "Accredited Inspection Body" to "Equipment Inspection Body". Within the framework of this new approach, inspection bodies, just like in environmental measurements, may be subject to audits by TURKAK and ISGUM at certain periods. This situation signals that ISGUM may also be included in the organization.

1. The penalty period for reports issued without an ISG-Katip contract has been shortened by reducing the suspension period from 6 months to 1 month.

2. Effective from January 1, 2027, four more pieces of equipment have been added to the accreditation requirements: • Power-driven lifting platforms for people with mobility impairments. • Steam boilers

• Cable handling systems

• Columnar work platforms

3. The contract obligation has been removed for equipment not covered by the regulation but subject to periodic inspection as a result of risk analysis.

4. Manufacturing Engineers and Chemical Engineers have been added as signatories.

5. "Lifting equipment in wind turbines" has been added under the category of equipment subject to inspection in Table-2.

6. An ISG-Katip contract is required for non-destructive testing.

7. Regarding the inspection of equipment that does not meet the standard, the phrase "Inspections are carried out according to the hierarchy set forth in Articles 1.1 and 1.4 of Annex III" has been added and clarified.
