What are Workplace Environmental Measurements?

Workplace environmental measurement is a testing, evaluation, and reporting process carried out to identify physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic risks in the workplace in order to protect the health and safety of employees.

Based on the negative findings identified as a result of the analyses performed, necessary actions and improvements are implemented.

What are the Types?

• Noise Measurement: Determining the noise levels to which employees are exposed (in decibels)

• Lighting Measurement: Adequacy of lighting in the work area

• Thermal Comfort Measurement: Suitability of temperature and humidity levels in the working environment

• Vibration Measurement: The effect of vibration levels in the workplace on employees

• Personal/Environmental Dust Measurement: Dust density in the working environment, especially in sectors such as construction, textiles, and mining

• VOC Measurement: Concentration of harmful gases (carbon monoxide, toluene, ammonia, etc.) and particles in the working environment

 

Why are they done?

• Protecting the health and safety of employees

• Preventing work accidents and occupational diseases

• Ensuring compliance with legal regulations and standards

• Article 10 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 is mandatory and will be repeated when deemed necessary.
