What is transformer periodic inspection?
Transformer (transformer 1-36 kV visual inspection and grounding system) periodic inspection is the process of checking whether the electrical transformer is operating safely, efficiently, and without interruption at certain intervals. The aim is to prevent the risks of malfunctions, fires, and power outages.
How is it done? (Briefly)
Visual inspection
Oil leakage, corrosion, and insulation condition are examined
Labels, warning signs, and locks are checked
Electrical checks
Primary-secondary voltage and current measurements
Insulation resistance and grounding check
Function tests
Operation of protection relays and switches
Level and temperature indicators in oil-filled transformers
How often is it done?
At least once a year
Again after a malfunction, maintenance, or unusual situation
Standards / legislation
Regulation on Electrical High Current Installations
Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment
Who should do it?
• Equipment inspections must be carried out by authorized Electrical Engineers, Electrical and Electronics Engineers / Electrical Technicians holding Ekipnet "K" number, as determined by the equipment inspection organization.
